Theatre of the Damned itself grew from an earlier project which brought together four classic dramas from the Grand Guignol, together with a newly written horror short.

**** – The Oxford Student

‘actresses were writhing messily across the stage in pools of acid and fake blood – very entertaining.’- Oxford Theatre Review

‘An invitation to the Grand Guignol is not just a ticket to a night’s entertainment, but an invitation to a whole new theatre. [...] With farce, frenzy and gore, stunning new adaptations and good performances, this is the play to see this week – and just in time for Halloween.’ – Caduta Arts Review

An evening of grisly entertainment presented by the Collapsible Theatre Company in association with Carte Blanche Productions which brought the spirit of the Grand Guignol back from the grave. With an ensemble of talented young performers and a selection of faithful new translations, A Night at the Grand Guignol provided a Halloween treat of blood-curdling mayhem.

The show consisted of the following short plays presented by a ghoulish and mysterious narrator (Charlie Gerstrom).

A Goodnight Kiss (Le Baiser dans la nuit) - by Maurice Level – Translated by Leo Shtutin

The Final Torture (La Derniere Torture) – by André de Lorde and Eugéne Morel – Translated by Tom Richards

The Guillotine (La Veuve) – by Eugene Heros and Leon Abric – Translated by Tom Richards

Crime in a Madhouse (Un crime dans une maison de fous) – by André de Lorde and Alfred Binet – Translated by Leo Shtutin

The Canister – by Tom Richards and Stewart Pringle
